I read an article in National Geographic today that said that only 1 of every 10 genes in the human body are of HUMAN origin. How about that! I would also like to share an excerpt from one of my books. The author is a man named Naazir Ra and you can check him out at naazir.com.  In his book "The Hidden Self" he talks about the power of the mind and how it works with our DNA to help us reach our full metaphysical and spiritual potential. In one section he states that when we are in our true state of consciousness, we can access and awaken parts of our DNA that allow us to be immortal, have lucid dreaming, trans-dimensional time travel, shape-shifting, telepathy, and even control the elements (earth, wind, fire and water).

  1. Amanda,

I will definitely look up that site. I know that we do not exercise our minds to their fullest potential. It would be great to release the possibilities.

    1. Hi Laurie. Yes it is true that we actually use very little of our brain power. Think of the possibilities if we can do what we do now with only about one tenth of the potential power! That is awesome. I agree that it would be great to realize the possibilities. :)

  2. Did the National Geographic article state where the other 9 genes got their origin from?

I need to take a look at the book you are reading as I enjoy expanding my author collection and I love to learn different viewpoints.

The description of the book reminds me of one that was mentioned early on the television series Heroes that was written by one of the characters (Mohinder Suresh) father. Of course the things they unlocked in their DNA were super powers, which I don't expect, but it sounds very interesting.

    1. Sandy, I believe that we CAN have super human powers if we are able to unlock that other ninety percent of brain power that we are not using. Call me crazy, but I have heard of people doing AMAZING things by tapping into a little more brain power than what most people use. It is very interesting to me as well. :) I also love reading books by a wide range of authors. I mainly read "new age" stuff now.
